     The history of Mah Protein Co.,Ltd is unique, in that it illustrates the tremendous growth of a small family business into a multi-million dollar seafood processing and exporting organization within a relatively short period of time.

  The founder of the Company, Mr. G. Mahdi, is a pioneer in the fishing and seafood industry here in Iran. He is credited with many innovative fishing industry development sectors. He is well known by fishermen all along the Persian-Gulf coast for his ability to support & pay the best price for the fishermen’s daily catch who work hard to bring their daily-catches with small fibre-glass boats.

Mah Protein Co.,Ltd are a dedicated vertically integrated family company, with a wealth of experience & a solid reputation gained over 20 years in the seafood industry. 
Mr. G. Mahdi, the present Managing Director, is assisted by his three son’s in this business - the eldest son AIi Asghar Mahdi (a civil engineer graduate), the second son Dr. AIi Mahdi (a medical graduate), and the youngest son Ali Akbar Mahdi (a M.B.A graduate). All the three son’s are the active directors and major shareholders in the Company.

  All it began in the 1980’s when Mr. G. Mahdi who had the love for sea & seafoods since his childhood, switched on from his building-contruction business partner­ship with his father & brother, and incorporated a seafood trading company in Jebel-Ali Free Trade Zone (Dubai - UAE) registered in Isle of Man (UK) under the name of M/s Oceanic Fisheries Ltd. He started since then trading in varieties of seafoods available in the region from Iran/Oman/Yemen...,  and exporting to Europe and Far-East.    The natural progression was the entry into the overseas markets which was the springboard of the rapid growth of the Group’s business in the mid 1980’s.     It was in the 1990’s when the Iranian Government broke the monopoly in the seafood industry by government sector,and invited all private sectors for investment in the seafood industry. It was then Mr. G. Mahdi pioneered the proccesing plan, and a factory was established at Bushehr, South of Iran near the Persian-Gulf coast.  

  The attractiveness of the export-policies of the Govt., encouraged the Group to invest very heavily in processing facilities particularly shrimps & cuttlefish which are its main business. The closeness to the coast, and taking advantage of the plenty local seafood raw-material available, it provided the potential to purchase fresh chilled mostly alive shrimps & seafoods from the independent fishermen who fish with small fibre-glass boats within few hours from fishing grounds in the clean parasite-free Persian-Gulf waters. This enabled Mah Protein Co.,Ltd to focus and concentrate on shellfish & seafood processing, and a continuing program of factory capital investments.  

  The Company now operates in its most modern fully air-conditioned H.A.C.C.P certified plant in Bushehr.Mah Protein was the first Company in Iran to obtain the sanitary EU code number 700, for shellfish & seafood exports to Europe.    

  All our production is carried out at our own modern facility, and all stages in the process are carefully monitored by our highly trained quality assurance staff under the HACCP programme.  

  At Mah Protein, we are serious about quality. One of the Directors are always presence in the plant to supervise the production of high-quality shrimp that is second to none. Packed under the “Oceanic” brand our premium shrimps are always uniform in size, consistent weight, and count. We routinely inspect them for appearance, uniformity, size and weight. And we take pride in the fact that our shrimp consistently meet our high quality standards. This allow us to offer you superior shrimp you can always trust, at a competitive price.  

 Even our cuttlefish products (sepia pharaonis) are all sashimi-grade. The fresh cuttlefishes are caught by wire-cages (no nets are involved) and it is alive when it reaches our plant. It is processed & packed within few hours of catch. Most important of all, the Chef has a product that is few hours fresh, so good it can be eaten raw! A sashimi-grade certification.

Our office in United Arab Emirates has shifted from Jebel Ali Free Zone to the Dubai-city under the name of M/s Ocean Pride Seafood L.L.C (a limited liability company), and is still active in serving you the best.
